NDG Food Drive

Hi followers, helping is one of my favourite things. I volunteered for the Selwyn House food drive last Friday. We went door to door collecting food and donations for the NDG Food Depot. My teacher, mom and sister came with me. It was a lot of fun. I learned that some people are super generous and others can be a bit grumpy. I rang at a grandpa's doorbell and as I started introducing myself, he said: "NO!" and he SHUT THE DOOR on me! It didn't discourage me, I just kept on going. Actually, it made me laugh quite a bit - it is a fun story to tell. Other residents were really generous; one grandma gave us a check of $100 - WOW! We then visited the Food Depot. I felt a little sad walking around, some people really need our help. A warm meal can turn a frown upside down. At the end of the morning, it shook me up a little bit, but by the end of day, I was grateful to have a cozy home.
